Frequently asked questions
How is randomness produced?
The generator uses crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias.
Can I exclude similar characters?
Yes. Exclude lookalike characters such as O, 0, l, and 1.
Is the password sent to a server?
No. Generation occurs in your browser and the value is not uploaded.
What does the strength meter mean?
It estimates character-pool entropy. It cannot account for every password policy or attack.
How long can a password be?
Choose from 8 to 128 characters, subject to the character groups you enable.
